Remembering Not Rewriting History | CAEF Bulletin - Aug 5, 2022

The Saddest Day on the Jewish Calendar

Image from Chabad.org

Many Jews are not aware of Tisha B’av and its significance. Not only is the 9th of Av, the day to remember the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, not once but twice, but many other tragedies befell the Jewish people on or near that day. Let us remember all the events, never to forget to honour the past, to learn from it, and to memorialize those who came before us and suffered simply for being Jewish. This year Tisha B’av starts on the evening of Saturday August 6th.

Read the history on Chabad.org of this Memorial day which highlights the following events:

  • The Spies Returned With a Bad Report

  • Both Holy Temples Were Destroyed

  • The Battle at Betar Was Lost

  • The Romans Plowed the Beit Hamikdash

  • The Jews Were Expelled From England

  • The Jews Were Banished From Spain

  • Both World Wars Began

Arabs Rewrite History

The Arab Palestinian “narrative” is a concocted history, one which has appropriated Jewish history, and is ideologically based without any supporting evidence. There are no ancient “Palestinian” artifacts in the land of Israel, no evidence of any such state.

The definition of a “Palestinian refugee” is inaccurate and should be unacceptable to the United Nations and all the donor countries which continue to send millions of both humanitarian and development aid to a government that funds itself, commits fraud, rewards terrorism, has a bloated (and uncivil) civil service, paying folks in Gaza despite not being the government in Gaza. The refugee status assigned to the so-called Palestinians by UNRWA doesn’t even require that someone has lived on the land for more than 2 years.

Article 7 of the Hamas Charter which has never been revoked requires every Hamas member and supporter, which includes every member of Students for Justice in Palestine, to murder every Jew on earth. Israel is not mentioned in Article 7.

Secondly, the enabling document of the Palestinian Authority is the 1964 PLO Charter which also requires all of its members to murder every Jew in Israel.

Quoting from Richard Sherman, a regular subscriber to CAEF Bulletin, he points out that any invocation of "historic Palestine", is ahistorical. The reality is that in recorded history there has never been a country called Palestine. It was a Roman designation of an area, not a country, a designation designed to obliterate over 2000 years of indigenous Jewish culture. For nearly one thousand years up until World War One the name "Palestine" did not appear on any map. There was the British Mandate for Palestine (1920-1948) -- a trust, not a country.

The Arabs have also proceeded to expressly reject an independent state of Palestine in 1947, 1948, 1967, 1994, 2000, 2008, 2019 and 2020.

Finally, instead of continuing to promulgate the fiction of "historic Palestine", one might want to study the prescient words of a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Zuheir Mohsen was a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization. Mr. Mohsen declared "the Palestinian people" to be a propaganda invention. In a 1977 interview with the Dutch newspaper "Trouw", Mr. Mohsen acknowledged that "the Palestinian people" were a propaganda invention:

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism.”

"For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we claim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan".

Pay for Slay, the policy of rewarding terrorist murderers of Israelis with lifetime salary

As a reward for slaughtering Yosef Salomon and his two adult children, Chaya and Elad, by stabbing them to death while they were eating dinner in their home in Halamish, this month the Palestinian Authority will double the salary of Palestinian terrorist murderer Omar Al-Abd.

No transparency, no democracy, no future of the Palestinian Arabs is the goal of President Mahmoud Abbas, the PA leader

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas has made decisions and implemented fundamental changes in the Palestinian political system. The decisions merged, integrated, and replaced the Palestinian Authority institutions with those of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). The cumulative goal of these decisions is to abolish completely the last remaining iota of the already almost non-existent Palestinian democracy.

The PLO is a designated terrorist organization.

Eradication of Israel is the Goal of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority

Standing next to US President Joe Biden at their recent joint press conference, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas unblinkingly called to end “74 years of... occupation." In other words, Abbas called for the end of Israel, as Israel was established in 1948.

Did President Biden Slap Israel in the Face?

The caption on this image from JNS July 15, 2022 is “Biden caps off two-day whirlwind visit to Israel: WATCH,”The U.S. president leaves Ben-Gurion International Airport for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The video shows President Biden’s cavalcade to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, and this image is a clip taken from the posted video.

Perhaps readers of this Bulletin can advise as to the likelihood that any American President, or any President of any other country, would “inadverstenly” fly the flag of a third country, especially a non-existent one like Palestine? Should Israel see this as a “goodwill gesture” for peace or a moment of amnesia in which the entire US delegation forgot to put the right flag on the car carrying the Americans to the Isareli airport? Wasn’t it enough that this President chose to remove the Israeli flag when he went to Ramallah to meet the antisemitic terrorist who heads the PA?

A Message from Brigadier General (res,) Amir Avivi, Founder and CEO of Israel Defense and Security Forum

“We are again experiencing all of these exiles today. From the land grabs in the South, to the limitations of Jewish development in Samaria, the dismantling of Jewish communities, and the erosion of Zionist beliefs among Israeli youth. Are we seeing the tragedies that led to Tisha B’av unfold in our own times?

Let me ask you - after the third of fourth wave of exile in the Book of II Kings, do you think the people at the time new what was coming? When they lost the Negev or Samaria, do you think they knew they would lose the rest of the land? Or did they continue with their lives, celebrating the portions of land they retained?

The modern State of Israel was founded 74 years ago. Since its foundation, we have not stopped fighting for our independence and right to live in our ancestral home land. We have built a thriving country, a strong military, a rich national heritage, and a society based on Jewish and Zionist values. We need to celebrate all of this. But we cannot forget our losses. We cannot ignore the erosion of those very Jewish and Zionist values that built the country. We cannot ignore the attempts to stop Jewish development in Israel. And we cannot ignore an enemy who will not rest until they have achieved our destruction.”

Facts About Israeli Society

You can hear the muezzin (Muslim call to prayer) in Tel Aviv.

Here are some suggested messages for signage that might be considered when confronting Israel Apartheid Week on Campus, Al Quds Day, Nakba Day, the myriad anti-Israel protests, meetings, memes, that are building the lies about Israel and ignoring the truth about the Arabs who live under the thumb, and boot, of the PA and its bedfellow, Hamas.
