National Summit on Antisemitism

Canadians await news about a much demanded, but little known invitation-only event, scheduled for March 6 in Ottawa for politicians at all levels, police services from across Canada and NGOs. CAEF has been invited, and will report any substantial outcome following this meeting.

What is the Palestinian Authority?

Is this a political party, an ideological movement, a military force? It is all 3, and primarily a terrorist entity. How did the  West come to believe the PA was any less treacherous than Hamas? They celebrated October 7th massacre.

Palestinian Media Watch Calls Palestinian National Identity a Lie

While schools, universities and even governments are busy adopting  a racist motion that is intended to limit or eliminate Jewish history and claims to the land of Israel, in deference to  Arabs that want to eradicate Israel, PMW points out the lack of any historical evidence to the claim of a Palestinian history and identity.

The Palestinians serve a useful foil to harm Israel and because they have caused trouble in every country in which they have settled, they are not welcome. Consider their role in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait. Had they not reverted to terror, these Arabs who are not distinctive by language, religion or culture, would have long ago been settled, some back in the lands from which their forbears came before they moved to Israel to benefit from Jewish development of Israel. Today, majority support Hamas, Hezbollah, PIJ and other terror groups which cause instability wherever they are. Backed by iran and Qatar, they don’t want two states, only one, free of Jews.

The Focus Project

CAEF is sharing the Focus Project; which “develops and distributes news, background history and weekly talking points to inform individuals and organizations about issues that affect American (Canadian) Jewish community and Israel”

Talking Points

1. Hamas terrorists and their supporters are a threat to everyone – including Americans

Terrorism against Israel is not just a Jewish, Israeli or Zionist problem – it is a threat to Americans and all humanity. The depraved acts of Hamas – proudly flaunted for the world to see – must be unconditionally condemned. There is no moral reasoning to justify the brutal slaughter of young babies. Any group who backs Hamas forfeits support or sympathy. Recently, ISIS terrorists forced 70 Christians in Africa out of their homes and beheaded them with machetes, and thousands more Christians have been killed in Nigeria. A Syrian refugee stabbed a Spanish tourist at Berlin’s Holocaust Memorial because he wanted to “kill Jews.” These acts prove: “What begins with the Jews, doesn’t end with the Jews.”

2. Hamas thinks its propaganda campaign is working

Hamas believes its stage-managed release of hostages and fabricated narratives of Israeli actions effectively manipulate global opinion. They exploit social media and international journalists to spread these falsehoods, attempting to create a false moral equivalence between terrorism and Israel's defense. Distorted casualty figures and anti-Israel rhetoric by international organizations reinforce the Hamas belief that its propaganda is swaying public sentiment and pressuring Israel. The goal: delegitimize Israel's right to exist and garner support for continued acts of terror.

3. Murdered Jewish children are NOT the same as child murderers

On Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists killed children in front of their families – but this was nothing new:

  • 2004: Palestinian terrorists shot and killed Tali Hatuel, 33 – eight months pregnant, and her four daughters, Merav, 2, Roni, 7, Hadar, 9, and Hila, 11, as Tali was driving home.

  • 2011: Palestinian terrorists shot, stabbed and killed Hadas, 3-months-old, Elad, 4, Yoav, 11, Ruth, 36, and Udi, 37, as they slept in their beds.

Many anti-Israel activists, human rights organizations and international journalists are equating the release of Israeli hostages – alive and dead – with imprisoned Palestinians – dozens serving life sentences for brutal acts of murder. The false comparison between Palestinian terrorists who murder children and the Jewish children, adults and families they murdered is abhorrent. Children like those killed on 10/7, or the Hatuel and Fogel families, were victims of unprovoked, brutal terror. There is no moral parity.

4. Jews are not okay: We are suffering from a traumatic event

The Oct. 7 atrocities and hostage crisis inflict ongoing mental and emotional fatigue, stress and trauma – sometimes extending to physical manifestations – for Jews in America, everyone in Israel and supporters around the world. The massacres and their aftermath echo generational traumas like the Holocaust and Israel’s existential crises in its War of Independence in 1948 and the Six Day War in 1967. Those tragedies affected generations of Jews. We watched the horrific Hamas attack videos, the horror of the hostage releases and the indifference of human rights organizations. – and realized that “Never Again” were hollow words.

A.   Allies: Show solidarity and take action

Stand up against anti-Jewish hatred and discrimination – whether in person or online. Tell your family, friends, colleagues and neighbors about the depravity and cruelty of Hamas and its tactics – from the 10/7 attacks to the way it released the hostages it kidnapped. Show your solidarity by attending Jewish community events, vigils and pro-Israel rallies. Your understanding, emotional support and participation create a crucial support network for the Jewish community.

B.   Education fosters effective action

Learn about the Jewish people, their history – including the Holocaust – the ancient connection to the State of Israel and the ongoing Israeli fight for independence, sovereignty and security. These serve as a backdrop to the trauma of 10/7 and the ongoing crises facing the Jewish people. Share the stories of those who survived the 10/7 massacre and accounts of the released hostages. Consider donating to Jewish relief organizations.

C.   Jewish Communities: Seek support and strengthen your resilience

Whether you or someone you know is experiencing ongoing trauma, it deserves acknowledgment and support. Seek mental health support, when needed, from a licensed professional and connect with community resources for healing. Attend local Jewish community events, synagogue services or pro-Israel rallies to find support, connection and strength. Local Jewish Family Services organizations for counseling and Jewish Federations for events are valuable resources. Remember, seeking support is a sign of courage and strength and community solidarity is essential for navigating challenging times.

Reported on Ynetnews.com on Feb 24, 2025:

“The International Criminal Court has dismissed comments by Friedrich Merz, leader of Germany’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU), who suggested he would invite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Germany and find a way to prevent his arrest under an ICC warrant.” The good news is that the newly elected government does not support the erroneous, unadulterated antisemitic bias of the ICC.

Advocacy and Action

CAEF’s letter to the Minister of National Defense, Bill Blair, clarifies a post on social media by the government. The letter was also sent to the Communications Director for DND who responded very quickly. The latter explained that some Canadian soldiers were issued the Arabic style scarf during service in Iraq and Afghanistan, and it had nothing to do with Palestine. CAEF acknowledged the response which was reasonable but suggested the image should be replaced given the current day association of the keffiyeh with anti-Israel mobs and messaging.

CAEF Letter to Halton District Catholic and Public School Boards was sent in advance of scheduled walkouts by students at 4 schools on February 26, 2025. Student Walkout for Palestine did go ahead as reported  in Milton  Today by Steve LeBlanc. The walkout was neither organized by nor sanctioned by either school board.

CAEF supported a letter sent to the Director of Women and Gender Studies Institute at U of Toronto, regarding the inclusion of an antisemitic speaker at the upcoming Social Justice Summit of the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians.
