Thank you for agreeing to attend the Solidarity Against Hate evening to
provide words of support. However, we don’t need words; we need actions.
Facta non verba. Here are a few top action items for each level of
government.
Federal
Cease further funding for United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) until terrorist associations have been definitively purged.
React timely to landmark events in the Middle East conflict consistent with Canadian values, the first time.
Deal fairly and transparently with Canadian charities serving the Jewish community; seriously probe charities and nonprofit corporations with credible links to designated terrorist organizations and list terrorist linked groups without delay
Provincial
Dedicate prosecution resources to hate crime cases while increasing relevant training for officers. Do not let these cases get thrown out due to delay or lack of expertise.
Protect places of worship, hospitals, schools, from targeted mob harassment while moving forward on creating Bubble zones.
Withhold funding from universities that engage in BDS activity or tolerate antisemitic harassment in their campuses.
Municipal
Take back the city streets from the hate mobs. Demonstrations that block city streets without a permit are illegal and should be dispersed. Organizers must be identified and fined where appropriate.
Adhere to and apply the anti-hate policies of the municipality including the permitting of events on public property so to hold organizers responsible
Antisemitic mischief and arson must be investigated with the same zeal as if these crimes were committed against Black, Indigenous or LGBT communities. We demand equal protection of the law. Nothing less.
School Boards
Do not allow anti-Israel propaganda disguised as confronting anti- Palestinian Racism to spread.
Put a stop to teachers/administrators abusing their positions to advance their personal politics.
We look forward to your meaningful actions at this time of crisis.
Yours truly
Anita Bromberg, President
